Catching Up With Family

Today we were in Emory, TX catching up with Carlton's aunts and uncles. These are Carlton's mom's brothers and sisters. All five were together to visit and catch up for the first time in 17 years. C & E were amazed that Grandma J had brothers and sisters just like they do. I guess when they don't see them often, even if you tell them about them, they just don't get it until they see them.

We had fun getting reaquainted with everyone. There was so much food! It was potluck and I think that everyone brought several dishes each.

C, E, and K had a blast, too. They played with the other kids there, bowled, played horse shoes, and just had a great time. C and E were a little shy when we first got there. C held onto the back of my pants and shirt and hid behind me for the first bit, but livened up shortly.

K took up with her Great Uncle A and let him carry her around and help her "walk" a lot. She just hit it off with him! She also got to sit in the lap and got toted around by some of the other kids.

Carlton played a couple of games of horse shoes, too, and won both of them. I saw him get at least two ringers!

It was fun catching up with everyone!
