Amazing Jakes

Today we went to Amazing Jakes with Grandma J and cousin R. We played miniature golf, rode the carusel, train, go-karts, played arcade games, and ate pizza.

C playing miniature golf.

E playing miniature golf.

K "playing" minature golf. K begged and begged to get a hold of the ball. She kept trying to get down, but if we let her she would chase after the ball that was being hit. Finally, C let her hold his ball while the others were hitting. She took the ball, expressed she wanted down, and went straight to the hole and very, very proudly dropped it in! She looked up at us with the biggest grin. Then proceeded to get it out again and do it over and over. She was a pro!

Flying the space ships! E started off really liking this ride, but quickly wanted nothing to with it. Each rotation by us, her face became more and more upset, until it became full-blown crying. Poor baby!

On your mark, get set, go! We raced around and around the go-kart track. E, K, R, and I all had a blast.

K loved to play in the toddler area.

Cousin R got me on the dance revolution style video game. I don't have a picture of it, but I'm sure it was quite amusing to watch! I had a blast trying to keep up with R, though!

Vacation Bible School

We are on an adventure in the Wildwood Forest this week! We are discover the untamed nature of God through crafts, music, theatre, experiments, and snacks! We have lots of fun planned for through Thursday night! Preschool thru 6th graders are welcome.

Here are a few pics I snapped of my kiddos participating in the activities:

Craft time

Game time

Song time

K stayed home with daddy on Sunday night. She enjoyed having this one on one time with him and did really well just playing and relished having the play area to herself. The picture below is where she fell asleep and was still asleep when I arrived home. It is by the door that leads into our backyard and close to the computer. She just lay down and went to sleep! How adorable!!!

Family Time!

Some of my family came in to visit us this weekend! My grandparents, Aunt, Uncle, and cousins. They came in Thursday around 11:30 a.m. We had supper on Thursday night together. Then, on Friday, although I had to work, my three kiddos spent the morning and most of the afternoon with them.

They had a great time. They started off at Central Market and then went on to Incredible Pizza for lunch, a fave of my kiddos!

Today, we spent the day at IKEA and then Sam Moon. I found these kid-size Poang chairs for the kiddos. I love them! I saw them at a friends house a while back and looked for one then, only to find they weren't making one at that time. Today, I saw them and just couldn't pass them up. We ended up with two thanks to Aunt M!

C with cousin A and J. My kiddos all adore A. C asks us to sing him the "A Song" every night. We just make up a song about her. They love spending time with her.

We had a blast spending time with everyone. We finished the day at our house with some great barbeque! They are headed home tonight and I pray for a safe passage home!

Slip N Slide at Barn School

C got to wear his swimsuit to barn school this morning for a slippin' good time! They pulled out the slip n slide. This was C's first time to really do this. He hurt his knee a little the first time he slid on his belly, so decided to try to slide on his bottom the remainder of the time. He had fun as did all the other children!

Painting Pottery, Aquarium and together time

The last two weeks have been packed with things to do. We have spent lots of time with my two nieces and my kiddos love hanging out and going places with them. On Monday, we went and painted pottery. C and E did this about a month ago and enjoyed it so much that we took my nieces to paint as well. Of course, C and E had to paint something else! They each picked out two small items and painted them.

Even K got to join in on the fun. She grabbed a paint brush and "painted" the table while sitting on great-grandma's lap.

After painting, we spent the rest of the day at Grandpa and Grandma J's house. I snapped several cute pics throughout the afternoon. Here is one of C and K posing so nicely together.

K has started to love baby dolls. She has her own word for them. Grandma showed her how to feed her baby a bottle and K loved doing this and showing all of us what she was doing. It is so cute to watch!

Today, we went to the Aquarium. K loved the river otters and fish. She would point at them and just watch them.

C and E wanted their pic taken together. They were standing on the railing looking at the penguins.

Hair-dos, swimming, fireworks, and prayer

Look at E's hair-do! Isn't she just too cute?!? E would barely let me brush her hair on Saturday morning, b/c she wanted her cousin R to fix it when we got to Grandma and Grandpa J's house. She sat perfectly still to let her fix her hair!

Grandpa J pulled out the kiddie pool for all five of the kiddos! We barbequed hamburgers and hotdogs, had rest/nap time and then let the kiddos have a fun time in this pool. They all fit, but barely!
Then, around dusk, we did some fireworks. These, my kiddos bought with their own money. We had a great 4th of July!

Sunday after church, a dear lady in our church fixed us an authentic Indian food meal. She fixed the food mild for us and we all enjoyed it so, so much. It was a great time.
After the meal, we sang a few hymns around the piano and then had a time of prayer. I feel so blessed to be a part of this family. The time of prayer was so real and touching and is the glue that seals us all together. We prayed for each of the children, specifically, and that God would keep us in His will! God has been so good to us!

Sunday evening all five kiddos stayed with Grandma and Grandpa while the four parents went out and just enjoyed time with each other. We ended up at our house playing on our Wii and then watched a movie. I'm not sure we had S and M home by curfew, but maybe it will be OK this once! We don't get to do this often and enjoyed our time together.
On Monday we went swimming at the water park! Everyone had a blast. I think I forgot to put sun block on my face and got a little bit of a burn. Most of it is gone today.

K wasn't too sure about the cold water at first. She did enjoy for a while, but then was done! She hates getting water splashed in her face! (Of course, so do I!)

My husband has been off for the last few days to spend time with his sister, brother-in-law and two nieces, as well as all of us. We have enjoyed the family time so much and will miss him being here all the time! He is such a wonderful husband and daddy!

Have a blessed day!

German Food, Polka Music, and Fireworks!

Last night we ate at the Bavarian Grill, a German Food Restaurant. We were celebrating my mother-in-law's retirement! The food was so, so good! We also have family in from Pennsylvania and have been enjoying spending lot and lots of time with them. I think my children would stay at Grandma and Grandpa J's house the whole time they were here if we'd let them.

After the meal, they started our dinner entertainment. Polka music! An accordian and tuba. All three of my kiddos really enjoyed the music and our family enjoyed watching them just as much as listening to the music. E has her hands up like she is playing a horn and did this for quite some time along with dancing along with the music, too.

Then, when we returned from eating, C begged his way into us agreeing to do the fireworks. Although, it was not dark out (our kiddos would never have made it that late) they still enjoyed doing the sparklers and watching the small fountains shoot off! We have even been persuaded to stop by a fireworks stand to let the kiddos spend some of their piggy bank money so we can do a few more around dusk tonight!
Here is C with a sparkler!

This is E with cousin S. E needed a little help as she was a bit afraid of the sparklers.

A small fountain!

The five grandkids in the back of Grandpa's truck. It is so neat to see them all interacting with each other. My kiddos love spending time with their older cousins so much!

Puppet Shows and Brushing Hair

My husband snapped this pic last night. C and E took a cardboard box that we were tossing away and cut it apart to puton a puppet show for us. After construction was complete -- they both got behind their puppets and sang a song for us using their puppets.

Here is K brushing my hair. She saw E brushing it yesterday and copied her then as well. So today when she saw the brush she grabbed it and came to brush my hair. I had C snap a picture.

While I was working on this blog --C put K in Es doll stroller and started pushing her around. K though it was so funny to be pushed around. I snapped a quick pic before I explained to him that it could easily fall apart with her in it!

Have a blessed day!

Busy busy

It has been over a week since I have posted to this blog. Sorry to all of my loyal readers out there. I guess I have just been too busy with other things. (Side note--some keys on my keyboard are not working--such as the backspace key and period key and comma key--so if something looks a little off --just ignore it! Very frustrating!!! I even changed the batteries and still -- no luck! It is a wireless keyboard.)

We have been super busy. I have been trying to get the housework done and laundry caught up the past several days .

My sisterinlaw and brother in law and two nieces are coming in from Pennsylvania today. They will be here for a full week and we have lots of fun things planned to do. I am sure I will have lots of pics to show as long as I get the time to put them on here.

Below is a few pics of K playing with her baby doll. E was playing with her doll and stroller and so K had to walk around carrying her baby doll and pushing her stroller too. She is not as gentle as E is though.

Have a blessed day!
